After January 1. 2020, the Orkdal became part of a new, bigger municipality, which got the same name as the former municipality of Orkland
  2. a valley on the lower part of Orkla river, where the main part of Orkdal municipality was situated. Roughly the same as Lower Orkladal. May include or not include the former district of Orkland, which existed until 1963.
