Northern Altai

- A Turkic language spoken in the Altai Krai, Russia on the border of Kazakhstan. There is no mutual intelligibility with Southern Altai.
Usage notes
Written Altai is based on Northern Altai, but is rejected by Southern Altai children. Dialects include Kumandy and Tubalar.
