Naxalite

Derived from Bengali নকশালবাড়ি (nokśalbaṛi, “Naxalbari”), the village where the movement originated in the late 1960s. See -ite.

Naxalite (plural Naxalites)

1. A member of any of several militant Maoist movements in India.
