Usage notes
Occurs in rump-Germany only historically, in description of Roman Law or perhaps some foreign laws, whereas it occurs regularly in Switzerland.
In rump-Germany’s, Switzerland’s, Austria’s and Liechtenstein’s internal laws only the legatum damnationis occurs, unlike in Belgium and Luxemburg and most other continental law countries.
