Klein-Welsden
Dutch
Etymology
First attested as Cleyn Welsen in 1603. Derived from a compound of either welp (“cub, young wolf”) or Middle Dutch Welp (“a personal name”) and dal (“dale, valley”) prefixed with klein (“small, lesser”). The element klein was added to distinguish the settlement from Groot-Welsden.
