- A taxonomic species within the family Amaranthaceae – prickly saltwort, or prickly glasswort, an annual plant that grows in salty, sandy soils along the shores of Baltic Sea, North Sea and the European Atlantic Ocean, now usually Salsola kali.

- Sometimes confused with Kali tragus.
