Hommert
Dutch
Etymology
First attested as hummert in 1402. Etymology unknown. A proposed derivation from a compound of the plural form of hoog (“high, tall”) and the plural form of berg (“hill, elevated place”) matches neither the oldest attestations nor the terrain around the settlement.
