Hien
Dutch
Etymology
Potentially attested as hehun in the second half of the 9th century, attested with certainty as apud hian towards the end of the 11th century. Etymology unknown. A proposed derivation from Proto-Indo-European *(a)kew (“glittering, bending outward”) is farfetched.
