From Middle English Ebrayk, Hebrak, Hebrayke, from Late Latin hebraicus,[1] from Byzantine Greek Ἑβραϊκός (Hebraïkós),[2] from Ancient Greek Ἑβραῖος (Hebraîos, “Hebrew”). Equivalent to Hebra- + -ic.
