goose + village (“neighbourhood”) From the geese that once nested on the riverside next to Victoriatown, where geese hunting once was permitted.

Located street-south of the neighbourhood of Grffintown, south of the Lachine Canal, west of Old Montreal, north of the Victoria Bridge.
