Broca's area (plural Broca's areas)

  1. (neuroanatomy) An area of the frontal lobe of the brain associated with the control of speech.
    • 2019, Bill Bryson, The Body: A Guide for Occupants, Black Swan (2020), page 89:
      Broca discovered the brainʼs speech centre in the frontal lobe — the first time that anyone had connected an area of the brain to a specific action. The speech centre is still called Brocaʼs area.
