Cimbrian

Etymology

From Old High German Wenia, of disputed origin. Perhaps from Latin *Vedunia or Vindobona, both from Celtic. Vindobona is perhaps from Gaulish *Windobona, possibly composed of *windos (white) (from Proto-Celtic *windos) + *bona (village; establishment) (from Proto-Celtic *bonus). Cognate with German Wien.
