Bernstein basis polynomial

Named after Sergei Natanovich Bernstein (1880–1968), a Russian and Soviet mathematician of Jewish origin.

Bernstein basis polynomial (plural Bernstein basis polynomials)

1. (mathematical analysis, numerical analysis) Any polynomial of the form ${\displaystyle b_{i,n}(t)={n \choose i}t^{i}(1-t)^{n-i}\!\!}$, being the i ^th term of the binomial expansion of ${\displaystyle (t+(1-t))^{n}\!}$.
