Etymology
From Nossa Senhora da Conceição Aparecida (Our Lady of the Revealed/Appeared Conception), the original name for Our Lady of Aparecida, a clay statue of the Virgin Mary that, according to tradition, was found by three fishermen in 1717 on the Paraíba river in Brazil.
