Etymology

Probably a blend of -immin + -ten.

Suffix

-iten

  1. Forms superlative adverbs from some stems, mostly of bisyllabic stems or -ea adjectives.

Usage notes

Syntactically -iten can always be replaced with -immin, but not the other way around. With most words the superlative adverbs are synonymous, but in some cases (such as those listed below) the two have diverged in meaning, in which case one of the forms may be rare or even nonexistent.
