Etymology
From Proto-Indo-Aryan *-tiṣ, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *-tiš, from Proto-Indo-European *-tis.
Usage notes
This suffix forms feminine i-stem nouns. If the root ends in न् or म्, the न् or म् is replaced directly with ति, rather than ति being added to it as it is generally. If the root ends in ज्, the ज् becomes क् before ति.
