Etymology
From Middle Iranian *-ak, from Proto-Iranian *-akah. The agent-noun-forming suffix is probably etymologically distinct and is borrowed from Middle Iranian *-āk; it is found in the following wholly borrowed terms: դերձակ (derjak), վարձակ (varjak), պատմուճակ (patmučak), նուիրակ (nuirak) and perhaps աւազակ (awazak).
