Egyptian
Glyph origin
A depiction of an unidentified animal associated with Set, the Set animal: a slender canid resembling a greyhound, Saluki or jackal, with a distinctive stiff tail (often forked in later depictions) which stands erect whether the animal is sitting, standing, or walking. Its erect ears are usually depicted as squarish or triangular, narrowest at the base and widest at the squarish(perhaps cropped) tops, and its long nose often has a slight downward curve. It may or may not have been a real animal. It is usually depicted at rest, either sitting like this, or lying down: 𓃫 (
