Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *wรณdrฬฅ (โwaterโ). Related to Luwian ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ญ.
Bedลich Hroznรฝ, who deciphered Hittite in 1917, said that seeing this word and knowing German Wasser made him realize Hittite was Indo-European.[1]
