Inherited from Proto-Turkic *beŋgü (“eternal”) possibly from Middle Chinese 萬古 (MC mjonH kuX, “aeons, eternal”). Cognate with Turkish bengi (“eternal”), Uzbek mangu (“eternal”), Bashkir мәңге (məñge, “eternal”), Yakut мэҥэ (meñe, “eternal”).
