1. Editorial emendation of 𐌲𐌰𐌽𐌰𐌽𐌸𐌹𐌳𐌰 (gananþida)

The attested form 𐌲𐌰𐌽𐌰𐌽𐌸𐌹𐌳𐌰 (gananþida) appears to derive from Proto-Germanic *nanþijaną (“to dare”), but because the semantic development of “dare” to “finish” is difficult to explain, some editors have emended it to Lua error in Module:utilities at line 142: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'h' (a nil value), an otherwise unattested verb that would be descended from Proto-Germanic *andijōną (“to end, finish”).
