Usage notes
Although occasionally used as a noun in isolation, 참혹 (chamhok) is generally encountered as the non-verbal element of the light verb construction 참혹하다 (chamhok-hada). When conveying the noun meaning, the more common form is the verbal noun 참혹함 (chamhok-ham).
