A compound of 재— (jae-, “quick, fast”) and 싸— (ssa-, “quick, fast”). ssa- in Middle Korean was ·pso-. This consonant cluster was reduced to a tense consonant word-initially, as in modern 싸— (ssa-), but word-medial clusters were retained.
