Etymology
From Middle Korean 과ᅀᅵᆯ (kwazil), from Sino-Korean 과실 (果實, kwasil, “fruit”).[1]
Pronunciation

- Phonetic hangul: [과(ː)일]
- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
