コンセント

Japanese

コンセント (konsento), a Japanese wall socket

Etymology

Clipping of コンセントリックプラグ (konsentorikku puragu), wasei eigo (和製英語; pseudo-anglicism), derived from concentric + plug,[1][2][3] used since the late Meiji period.[1] Sometimes the source word is mistaken for the unrelated English consent which would be transliterated the same way.
