Symbol
⯞
- (astrology) The "true" black moon: the lunar apogee as calculated from the Moon's current oscillating position using Kepler's laws (assuming no further perturbations), as opposed to the mean Black Moon ⟨⚸⟩.
Usage notes
- The word "true" is misleading. The True Black Moon is not where the lunar apogee is calculated to be, but rather where it would be if there were no further gravitational influences on the Moon apart from that of the Earth -- that is, its position based on a highly simplified calculation, which will not be its true position.[1]
