Etymology

Maybe a cognate of Mizo rah (fruit) according to Schuessler (2007), although Sagart (2002) associates it with Tibetan ཁྲེ (khre, millet), which possibly comes from Proto-Sino-Tibetan *khrəj. (“millet, rice”).
