Cognate with Thai เงิน (ngən), Lao ເງິນ (ngœn), ᦇᦹᧃ (nguen), Tai Dam ꪹꪉꪷꪙ, Shan ငိုၼ်း (ngúen), Tai Nüa ᥒᥫᥢᥰ (ngöen), Phake ငိုꩫ် (ṅün), Ahom 𑜂𑜢𑜤𑜃𑜫 (ṅün), Bouyei nganz, Zhuang ngaenz, Saek แญ๊น.
