Cognate with Thai ถั่ว (tùua), Northern Thai ᨳ᩠ᩅᩫ᩵, Khün ᨳ᩠ᩅᩫ᩵, Lao ຖົ່ວ (thūa), Tai Dam ꪖ꪿ꪺ (thua2), Tai Dón ꪖꪺꫀ (tho2), Shan ထူဝ်ႇ (thò), Tai Nüa ᥗᥨᥝᥱ (thǒw), Phake ထုဝ် (thuw), Ahom 𑜌𑜥 (thū) (as in 𑜉𑜀𑜫𑜌𑜥 (makthū)).
