*ᚲᛖᛚᛒᚨᛉ (*kelbaʀ, “calf”) + ᚦᛖᚹᚨᛉ (þewaʀ, “slave, servant”). First element a variant of Proto-Germanic *kalbaz, second from *þewaz (“slave, servant”).
Usage notes
- Some authors have rejected reading kelba- as ‘calf’, and instead prefer a name [s]kelbaþewaz ‘tremble-servant’, with the first s- missing.
