Possibly from ᄉᆞᆯ (sol-, to crush) + 아기 (-aki, diminutive suffix). See also Middle Korean ᄇᆞᅀᆞ라기 (pozolaki, fragment), Korean 군더더기 (gundeodeogi, unnecessity), 쓰레기 (sseuregi, garbage) for the same suffix.
