From ჭინჭველი (č̣inč̣veli) influenced by ჭია (č̣ia), from Old Georgian ჯინჭველი (ǯinč̣veli) or ჯინჭუელი (ǯinč̣ueli), from Proto-Georgian-Zan *ǯinč̣wel- (ant). Compare also Mingrelian ჭკიჭკიტია (č̣ḳič̣ḳiṭia), ჯგიჯგიტია (ǯgiǯgiṭia) and Laz დიმჭკუ (dimç̌ǩu), დუმჭკუ (dumç̌ǩu).
