Etymology

Ḳelauraʒe on the basis of ინჩაჴუ (inčaqu, crop, craw), Georgian ხვანჩი (xvanči, Adam's apple), Mingrelian ხონჩი (xonči, Adam's apple), Svan ჴუ̂ა̈ნჩ (qûänč, crop, craw) reconstructs Proto-Kartvelian *qwanč-.[1] In Mingrelian and Svan the expected *ჩქ (*čk) (← *ჩ (*č)) consonant cluster didn't develop probably due to the presence of (q) in the stem.

Old Georgian ჩაჴჳ (čaqwi) must be a metathesized form related to this family of words too.
