Borrowed from Pali seṭṭhi (treasurer), from Sanskrit श्रेष्ठीन् (śreṣṭhīn). Indigenized as သူ- (su-, -er) + ဌေး (hte:, wealthy). Doublet of ချစ်တီး (hkyacti:).
