Usage notes
When it is solely used with a consonant, it produces /ɛː/. It is also used as a vowel component to produce other sounds as follows:
- แ◌ะ becomes /ɛʔ/, without a final consonant.
- แ◌็ becomes /ɛ/, with a final consonant.
The glyph is recommended to use instead of typing เ twice.
