1. The alphasyllabic combination of ஶ் (ś) +‎ அ (a).
2. One of the letters in the வடமொழி எழுத்துக்கள் (vaṭamoḻi eḻuttukkaḷ, “letters from the northern tongue”), used mainly in loanwords.

This letter is mostly obsolete and is usually replaced with ச (ca) or ஷ (ṣa).
