Borrowed from Classical Persian نارنج (nāranj́), from Arabic نَارَنْج (nāranj), from Classical Persian نارنگ (nārang), from Sanskrit नारङ्ग (nāraṅga). Doublet of નારંગી (nāraṅgī). Compare Hindustani نارنج / नारंज (nārañj), Azerbaijani narınc, Armenian նարինջ (narinǰ).
