Etymology
Borrowed from Japanese 蓮の花 (hasu no hana, “lotus flower”), from 蓮 (hasu, “lotus”) + の (no) + 花 (hana, “flower”). Alternatively from হাসনা (haśona) + হেনা (hena, “henna”), the former being from either Arabic حَسْنَاء (ḥasnāʔ, “beauty, extremely beautiful”) or حَسَنَة (ḥasana, “good deed, beautiful”) and the latter from Arabic حِنَّاء (ḥinnāʔ, “henna”).
