Etymology
Inherited from Prakrit 𑀫𑀁𑀟𑀮𑀺 (maṃḍali), from Sanskrit मण्डलिन् (maṇḍalin, literally “possessor of the territory”), from मण्डल (maṇḍala, “circle, group, territory”) + -इन् (-in, possessive suffix).[1][2] Doublet of মণ্ডল (monḍol).
