From কেতি (keti, “*how many/much”) (compare কেত (ket, “more than one”), কেত (keto, “how many/much”)), with -আ (-a). কেতি (keti) is from Early Assamese কেতি (keti) (whence কেতিখনে (ketikhone, “when”), কেতিবেৰি (ketiberi, “when”)). Compare Maithili কেহিযা (kehiyā).
