Etymology
From Proto-Indo-Iranian *HsuHápas (“doing good work; artistic, well created”), from Proto-Indo-European *h₁su-h₃ép-os, from *h₁su- (“good”) + *h₃ep- (“work”). Cognate with Old Avestan 𐬵𐬎𐬎𐬁𐬞𐬀𐬵 (huuāpah, “doing good work”), Persian خوب (xub, “good, well, nice”).
