Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘢𑘳𑘭𑘜𑘹 (pusaṇe), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀧𑀼𑀲𑀇 (pusaï), from Sanskrit प्रोञ्छति (proñchati). Cognate with Hindi पोंछना (põchnā), Bengali পুছা(pucha), Assamese মচা (mosa).

पुसणे • (pusṇe) (transitive)

1. to wipe, cleanse by rubbing

   दुकानाची फरशी रोज पुसायला पाहिजे.

   dukānācī pharśī roj pusāylā pāhije.

   The store's floor should be wiped every day.

2. to wipe out, obliterate, destroy, efface
