Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀕𑀸𑀠 (gāḍha), from Sanskrit गाढ (gāḍha), from the root गाह् (gāh).[1] Cognate with Nepali गाढा (gāḍhā), Sindhi ڳاڙهو / ॻाढ़ो, Gujarati ગાઢું (gāḍhũ), Marathi गाढ (gāḍh), Kholosi gahro.
