Learned borrowing from Sanskrit अर्यमन् (aryamán). The longer ā is possibly with influence from Sanskrit आर्य (ā́rya, “noble”) or आर्यमण (āryamaṇa, “relating to or belonging to Aryaman”). Doublet of अर्यमा (aryamā).
