From Aramaic רֵיחָא (rēḥā), possibly a diminutive form of רוּחָא (rūḥā, “wind, spirit”); compare Arabic رِيح (rīḥ, “wind”), رَائِحَة (rāʔiḥa) and Hebrew רֵיחַ (réakh).
