ܩܨܒܐ

Assyrian Neo-Aramaic

Also found in Classical Syriac ܩܨܒܐ, Hebrew קַצָּב, and Arabic قَصّاب (qaṣṣāb), the latter loaned from Aramaic. See also Akkadian kaṣabu “to reduce, pare off” with deemphasis of /q/ = [k’] due to Geers' law.
