From Aramaic פָּתוּרָא (pāṯūrā), from Akkadian 𒍎 (paššūrum), ultimately from Sumerian 𒍎 (banšur); also in Classical Syriac ܦܵܬܘܼܪܵܐ (pāṯūrā) and in Arabic فَاثُور (fāṯūr).
