گزاردن

Persian

Etymology

From Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (wcʾltn' /wizārdan, wizār-/, to separate; to explain, interpret; to perform, fulfil, redeem), from Proto-Iranian * (apart) + a causative formation from Proto-Iranian *čarH (to come and go, wander), from Proto-Indo-Iranian * + Proto-Indo-Iranian *čálHati (to move, wander), the prefix ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *wi (apart). Compare Old Armenian վճար (včar), an Iranian borrowing.
