Etymology
From Proto-Turkic, whence Hungarian gyárt (“to manufacture”). The root is probably a derivation of Proto-Turkic *yara (“be good enough, be sufficient, be successful”), appended with the causative suffix -t.
Cognate with Turkish yaratmak, Uzbek yaratmoq, Kyrgyz жаратыл (jaratıl, “to be created”), Kazakh жарату (jaratu), Bashkir яратыу (yaratıw), Tatar яратучы (yaratuçı, “creator”).
