Cognate with Avestan 𐬨𐬀𐬌𐬜𐬌𐬌𐬀 (maiδiia), Sanskrit मध्य (madhya), Ossetian мидӕг (midæg), Gilaki مئن (men) and Arabic مَيْدَان (maydān).
